Music in Motion 2026
Music in Motion is the Cheshire High School Marching Ram Band’s annual home competition, bringing marching bands from Cheshire and beyond to the CHS campus for a day of music, performance, and competition.
As a US Bands-sanctioned event, Music in Motion features performances that are evaluated by US Bands adjudicators, giving participating bands an opportunity to perform their shows, receive feedback, and compete alongside other programs from throughout Connecticut and beyond.
But Music in Motion is more than a competition — it is a major community event and an important fundraiser for the Cheshire High School Band Parents Association.
A Community Effort
Hosting Music in Motion takes a tremendous amount of coordination and volunteer support. From welcoming visiting bands and assisting with logistics to concessions, merchandise, admissions, hospitality, parking, and event support, volunteers help make the day possible.
It is a wonderful opportunity for band families, alumni, students, and members of the Cheshire community to come together and support the Marching Ram Band.
Whether you volunteer, attend the competition, purchase something from the concessions or merchandise table, or simply come out to cheer on the performers, your support makes a difference.

Cheshire High School Band Parents Association, Inc. (BPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the instrumental music programs at Cheshire Public Schools, especially the Marching Ram Band. Since 1997, parents, alumni, and community members have volunteered to raise funds, provide scholarships, and ensure every student has the opportunity to experience the pride of music and performance.
