Music in Motion
Music in Motion is the annual marching band competition held at Cheshire High School, bringing bands from throughout Connecticut and beyond to Cheshire for a day of music, performance, and competition.
As a US Bands-sanctioned event, participating bands perform their shows and are evaluated by US Bands adjudicators.
The event is hosted by Cheshire High School and made possible with the support of band parents, alumni, students, and community volunteers. Music in Motion is also an important fundraising event for the Cheshire High School Band Parents’ Association, Inc., helping support its mission to provide grants and scholarships for Cheshire Public Schools’ instrumental music programs.
A Community Effort
Music in Motion takes a dedicated team of volunteers to make it happen. Band parents, alumni, students, and community members come together to support the event through admissions, concessions, merchandise, hospitality, parking, and other event activities.
Their time and support help make Music in Motion a success while supporting the mission of the Cheshire High School Band Parents’ Association, Inc.
Whether you volunteer, attend the competition, purchase something from the concessions or merchandise table, or simply come out to cheer on the performers, your support makes a difference.

Cheshire High School Band Parents Association, Inc. (BPA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the instrumental music programs at Cheshire Public Schools, especially the Marching Ram Band. Since 1997, parents, alumni, and community members have volunteered to raise funds, provide scholarships, and ensure every student has the opportunity to experience the pride of music and performance.
